Celebrating HealthLink’s 25th Anniversary: A Legacy of Dedication

On November 4, 2024, HealthLink Hospital proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary, a milestone that reflects years of unwavering commitment to quality healthcare and occupational health services. The grand event, hosted at HealthLink’s state-of-the-art facility in Adjiringano, brought together esteemed guests, partners, staff, and clients in an atmosphere of gratitude and reflection.

Program Highlights

The event began with a warm welcome reception and an opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, setting a reflective tone. Guests were treated to refreshments as they settled into the venue. The masters of ceremonies, Magdalene and Michael, engaged the audience with their lively introductions and housekeeping announcements.

The highlight of the night was a detailed reflection on HealthLink’s growth presented by Dr. Christine Mensah, a board member. Dr. Mensah’s speech took the audience through the organisation’s humble beginnings in a family storeroom in 1996 to its current status as a primary hospital offering diverse healthcare services.

In a symbolic moment, Colonel Dr. Clement Laryea led the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the popping of champagne. This act, accompanied by fireworks and a resounding toast, celebrated the hospital’s milestones and resilience. Guests were further moved by congratulatory messages from Bishop Anthony Asare and Dr. Uche Okorocha, who emphasised HealthLink’s impact on healthcare in Ghana and beyond.

The program featured captivating performances. The cultural richness of Ghana was showcased through an Adowa dance performance, led by Nana Acheampongmaa, which engaged guests in an interactive display of tradition. Poetry lovers were treated to “Little Words,” a recital by Tracy Tetteh and Nana Kwame, celebrating the ethos of HealthLink.

The evening also featured the HealthLink song, performed by the soloist, which resonated with the organisation’s values and aspirations for the next century. A heartwarming segment saw Rev. Fr. Samuel Filton-Mensah visiting patients in the hospital wards to deliver prayers and meal packs, symbolising HealthLink’s commitment to compassionate care. The night concluded with a closing prayer by Rev. Fr. Anthony Oppon and words of gratitude from the MCs. Guests enjoyed networking, socialising, and indulging in refreshments, including tea, coffee, and petite pastries, as souvenirs were distributed.

A Journey of Growth and Innovation

HealthLink’s story, which began modestly in a storeroom at a family residence in Laterbiokorshie in 1996, is characterised by passion and resilience. Officially established as a sole proprietorship in 1999, the organisation’s roots lie in addressing occupational health needs across industries like mining, oil and gas, and construction. A pivotal moment in HealthLink’s early days came with its first Medevac—a life-saving air ambulance evacuation for an Australian miner.

Over the years, HealthLink expanded its services, relocated to larger facilities, and adapted to the dynamic healthcare landscape. By 2019, it achieved the status of a primary hospital accredited by the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA), offering a comprehensive range of services, from outpatient care to specialised treatments in cardiology, dermatology, and neurology.

Today, HealthLink stands as a beacon of excellence, blending ISO standards with compassionate, patient-centred care. Its dedication to innovation is evident in its plans to explore new frontiers, such as aesthetic gynaecology and well-being management.

Looking Ahead
As HealthLink embarks on its next chapter, its commitment to delivering precision healthcare and fostering a patient-first approach remains steadfast. The hospital’s founder expressed gratitude to all who have been part of the journey, emphasising the vital role of staff, clients, and partners in shaping its legacy.

Long live HealthLink! A lifeline of dedication and excellence.
